Frequently Asked Questions
We have no direct link with any of the Medical Aids and thus the practice operates on an immediate payment basis. However, patients will be refunded by their Medical Aid directly by the patient submitting a claim using the issued acceptable receipted account.
Payments may be made in the form of credit cards, SnapScan or EFT. We do take cash, however, this is discouraged as it poses an unnecessary infection risk due to the covid pandemic. All fees are inclusive of VAT.
Most often home visits can take anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the condition and your location.
Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturdays: Closed
Sundays: Closed
The surgery opens for bookings at 8:30 AM every working day and routine appointments begin at 9:00 AM. Morning surgery, therefore begins at 9:00 AM and lasts until all work has been completed, usually around 1:00 PM. Afternoon surgery begins at 3:00 PM and lasts till last appointment 4:30 PM unless the workload is such that we have to continue until all patients are seen. Surgery closes at 5:00pm. We will accommodate every patient, who will be seen before the end of the workday.
Although we prefer to see all our patients at the surgery where the medical facilities are best, we are available to do house calls for our registered patients unable to journey to the surgery. Should you require a house call, please contact the receptionist to arrange a suitable time. We can best accommodate house calls before surgery in the morning, at midday and after the surgery closes in the evening.
Parking is available in the driveway. However, we ask that these spaces be offered to moms with young children and the elderly. Off-street parking is available on the house side of the road. Please exercise caution when exiting your vehicle, especially in the evenings.
Occasionally one of our doctors will take a vacation which means that at these times you may not be able to see your favourite doctor. However, should you require assistance there will always be another doctor available, and you’re welcome to return to your doctor upon his return. We will always communicate this to you and you’ll be able to rely on quality care at all times.
If you require a script, kindly email scripts@thevinesfamilypractice.co.za. Please note however, that we do have a 48 hour turnaround time and that script fees are payable same day as receiving the script.
